Student engagement is the underlying principle of teaching and learning in an online environment. The Guidelines for Student Engagement in Blended Learning Environments has been approved by Academic Board as a developmental tool for individual staff, schools and faculties to consider how they can support student engagement in the online environment.

This section explores student-centred learning and the underpinning learning theories that guide us in addressing the learning needs of our students. The benefits, design considerations and suggested activities are provided for authentic, collaborative and reflective learning approaches.
