Using online lectures to support active learning - Case study
This case study examines how technology can be used to support an active learning strategy within face-to-face Chemistry classes. Both in-class polling software and online lectures are used as part of a comprehensive teaching strategy, designed to enable students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
View nowThe iLecture system provides the university with automatic, manual audiovisual recording capabilities. It is commonly used to provide students with a recording of traditional lectures but with iLecture facilities installed in 90 venues including theatres, classroom and case study rooms across various university campuses there are many more applications.
iLectures do not diminish student participation rates, but allow students to be more active in the lecture process, rather than simply be a note-taker. They are a great resource for students, and can allow you to point a student in the right direction if they missed any material or need to re-visit previous material.
